Diet + Lifestyle Accountability Request

Good morning, dear Ladies!

I am posting to let you know that I'd like you to hold me accountable for eating better and being more active.  Lately I have been falling into this slump where I just sit and stare at a screen in the evening and naturally, when I do that, I am tempted to eat, and to eat what's fast and convenient.

It's a super-vicious cycle because I know for a fact that the more active I am the less I overeat and the better I eat, and same for the reverse -- the more and the worse I eat the less active I am.

To be continued - must run! ~

  1. Had to laugh about the "must run" ending to the post about not being active enough. ;-)

Do you want to start posting about meals and exercise too, then? Otherwise, I'm not sure how best to keep you accountable...?

  2. I'm not sure - maybe if I just have a place to share what I've been doing to stay active and eat well, I will do it. I know having a place to share my budgeting 'victories' encourages me to have more victories to share :)

So if I explain 'I was tempted to eat blah-blah-blah and just sit on the couch all evening but instead of got off my butt and cooked a such-and-such and ate after doing a tabata of ____" that would be helpful!

  3. Especially if you guys are posting like that too - "What I made today that was Paleo" for you, and for Mom "How my Zone plan worked today"... Does that make sense?

  4. That does make sense. I don't know if I'm a contributor on this blog though...?

  5. I have sometimes made the "rule" for myself to not use the computer after 6 PM, and it helps me sleep. It's waaaay to easy to get "sucked into the vortex" and lose track of time otherwise. If 6 PM doesn't work, make another cutoff period - pretend the power is going out at a certain time and you have to be off the computer, shop all closed up, or it will fry your equipment and you will not be able to have access to that computer again!! (Works for the Imaginative :) ) Another way would be one Joey suggested - use the Pomodoro timer app to set a limit at one hour or 90 minutes, or whatever -- and when it goes off, stop what you're doing. The key point here is to limit your use and obey that limit. In the end, obedience always costs but it always produces happiness, especially as a way of loving Our Lord by it.

I recommend Monnie as a contributor of this blog! All in favor, say "Aye"...
